Sacristans are members of the parish who are responsible for the material preparations for the liturgy. This responsbility is a sacred and should not be taken lightly.   They are responsible for arriving early before Mass to set up the Creedence Table, as well as, stay after Mass to properly clean the vessels. 

The sacristan must show evidence of personal maturity in faith as to be able to maintain an atmosphere of devout yet joyous service.
