Just wanted to notify you that we will be offering a Healing Mass on
October 18th. Within this Mass you will have the opportunity to receive the Sacramental Anointing of the Sick. Those who are able to make a procession forward will receive the anointing in pretty much the same manner that you receive Communion; you will proceed up the main aisle. For those who are not able to come forward, I will come to where you are seated. I am asking that you sit in one of two areas: sit either along the back wall, in the chairs; or sit in the very front section of pews. This way, I will be able to reach you directly and not have to lean across anyone. It will be helpful if we can have one or two ushers on hand. As for explanations, I have chosen to schedule this Mass for noon, thereby eliminating the 9am Mass that day (we will maintain the Mass intention). I am figuring that those who have need of anointing will probably find it difficult to manage an early morning Mass. The other explanation has to do with the date. I have chosen October 18th because it is the Feast Day of St. Luke. The New Testament tells us that Luke was looked upon as the community physician (see Colossians 4:14). So keep this date in mind, along with the special time
