I would like to thank Bob & Kathy Nixon for their efforts in support of a new directory. They would like Carmen Reid, Sue Korson, and Karen Youker to be acknowledged as well. Each of these ladies served “behind the scenes,” facilitating the project. I should also extend a “thank you” to the Council of Catholic Women (CCW). Recently, they pledged $1000 to the GTACS Capital Campaign, and in addition, they have contributed fresh funds to St. Patrick Parish, assisting us with our own capital needs. And while I’m offering thanks, I should give a belated thank you to Buddy Bothwell and the Knights of Columbus for coordinating the Food Drive, benefiting our Pantry. It sounds like we will need to keep the momentum going, concerning the Pantry. Mary Clulo advises us that grant money will be scarce through 2017, and this means we will have to work extra hard at the parish level. As a result, we will be resuming an unofficial practice called “Pantry Sunday,” a way of dedicating the last weekend of each month to replenishing the Pantry. You can bring nonperishable goods to church on that weekend, leaving your items alongside the St. Patrick statue. Furthermore, we will gladly take monetary offerings. We don’t currently have a “pantry-envelope,” so you will have to use your own plain white envelope, hand-marked for the Pantry. Or if you place a check in the collection basket, be sure to mark the memo portion for our St. Patrick Food Pantry. May you all be blessed for your past, present, and future generosity.
