Just need to pass along a few items. First, we need to be careful about fragrances. We don’t plan to become a “fragrance-free” parish, but we are asking for moderation when you apply your perfume or cologne. Those who have a fragrance-sensitivity end up with symptoms like headache, coughing, watering of the eyes. So please be minimal in your use of perfume/cologne as you prepare for church. Second, I’m hearing that we are running short of greeters. Not everybody is cut out to be a greeter. But if you think that you can help us in this area, please let us know. Third, we will be going through a transition with regard to arts & environment. For the past few years, Darlene Brunetti has been spearheading this particular ministry. She has been the “go-to” person when the church needs to be decorated for an upcoming season. She has also been overseeing the watering of plants/flowers, and the basics of weekly cleaning/dusting. Darlene has indicated that it will be necessary for her to step back, and hand the responsibility over to someone new. If you have been working with Darlene, assisting her in these areas, and you would like to take on greater responsibility, then please be in contact with us. Or, if you are not currently involved with arts & environment, but have an interest, please give us a call. As we gather in the names of those who have an interest, then we will schedule an organizational meeting, so that we can have a structure in place before we
head into seasons like Advent and Christmas. By the way, we need to thank Darlene for her hard work and her very tasteful efforts. Fourth, on a related note, we should thank the garden committee for their hard work. As Darlene concentrated on the interior of the church, the garden committee has been concentrating on the Rosary Garden and on other landscaping enhancements. I hesitate to name names, because I suspect that somebody’s name will be omitted. But among the volunteers keeping so busy, I’ve been noticing Mary Meernik, Marlene Moreno (joined occasionally by family), Barb Cummings, Beverly Town, Stacey Breimayer, Liz Clous, and Gary Clous. If I’ve left anybody out, get word to me. You can receive belated recognition. Have a safe and enjoyable summer, one and all.
