We are in the final stages of our capital campaign. It all began two and half years ago, with masonry work being carried out at both the office/rectory and also the church/hall. We then shifted to the interior, with new floor covering and painting. The office was updated, and then it was time to update the church/hall. Most recently, a wainscoting was extended along the back wall of the worship space.
This helps to beautify the assembly area, and it also protects the wall covering from being scraped by the backs of the chairs. Additionally, you may have noticed that LED lights are being installed. This has been happening in stages, throughout each building. Not only are we enjoying a more brilliant quality of light, but this will save us money when we pay our power bill (LED lights burn more efficiently). Soon, work will begin on our exterior doors. In some cases this will mean repair work, in other cases this will mean actual replacement of the door and frame. Perhaps you've noticed how one of our doors has been failing to close properly. Furthermore, you can see where the winter salt has caused corrosion along the lower portions of the framework. Once the doors have been dealt with, we will stand down. The identified projects will have been completed, and the campaign will come to an end. We will greatly appreciate it if you could pay any outstanding balance associated with your pledge. We say this because money needs to be held over for future needs. Along with maintaining these unused funds, we also plan to budget annually in such a way that money is set aside to keep pace with future developments. Our outgoing facilities manager, funds, we also plan to budget annually in such a way that money is set aside to keep pace with future developments. Our outgoing facilities manager, Art Lambert, tells us that we could be looking at a new furnace in the not-to-distant future. So we really can't afford to relax and become complacent. In the meantime, thank you for supporting the capital campaign; thank you for taking such great pride in your parish. May God bless you for your generosity.
[PS: I've been updated the Men's Club that the parking lot will receive an initial patching, and that the re-striping will happen in the spring. Many thanks to the Men's Club for enabling us to concentrate our capital efforts on areas beyond the parking lot]
